(Reuters) – Former Fox Information host Tucker Carlson launched the primary episode of his new present on Twitter on Tuesday, weeks after being taken off the air by the community following a harmful defamation lawsuit over false claims of election fraud.
In a roughly 10-minute video captioned “Ep.1” he claimed with out proof that Ukraine was accountable for the destruction of a large dam in Russian-occupied territory that prompted widespread flooding.
The one-time top-rating speak present host on U.S. cable tv stated he hoped Twitter can be the “short-wave radio beneath the blankets” with “no gatekeepers”.
“If that seems to be false, we’ll go away,” he stated.
The present is known as “Tucker on Twitter” and Carlson stated he can be “again with far more very quickly.”
Twitter proprietor Elon Musk tweeted after Carlson posted his video that it “can be nice to have reveals from all components of the political spectrum on this platform!”
Fox Information Media and its top-rated host Carlson agreed to half methods in late April, lower than every week after guardian firm Fox Corp settled the defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million.
Dominion Voting Programs alleged in its lawsuit that Carlson allowed debunked election-fraud claims about its voting-technology agency to air on his present, whereas casting doubts on the plausibility of these claims in personal messages that emerged in authorized filings.
Fox Information didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
